Library News

The Baldwin Community United Methodist Church Library is located in Room 216 on the upper level of the Education Wing.  Although the collection is available to all members of the congregation, its location in the education wing necessitates getting beyond the security door (it is open on Sunday, and on other days you can see a church staff member for access). In recent years, many folks have taken advantage of a rotating collection of books on a library cart located in the Church Narthex. There is a box in which to put signed book cards for check-out, and books may be returned to that cart.

We have now added another location for you to browse for library books. In our recently renovated Parlor, two shelves of library books are available for you.  As with the book cart in the Narthex, this will be a rotating collection and any of these books may be checked out (please use the Narthex book cart for check-out).

In addition to this, the “children's activity bags” provided by UMW for use during worship times each contain a library book. These books may also be borrowed for home use by signing the library card and placing it in the box on the library cart in the Narthex.

We hope you will take advantage of our library collection through any of these four locations.  All books may be returned either to the library return box in room 216 or to the library cart in the Narthex. Please note that book donations for our library are accepted at the discretion of the Librarian and the Library Committee.

Our Church Library, stocked with books for children and adults, is located in Room 216 on the upper level of the education wing.

There are books on all subjects, fiction and non-fiction, with an emphasis on various theological topics and Christian living.

The library is open and available to all church members whenever the church building is open (If the security door to the education wing is locked, see a secretary or other staff member for access).

There are no fees and no personal library cards. When you borrow a book, just sign and date the book card and place it in the box by the door.  A selection of books is placed and continually changed on a book cart in the church narthex.  Browse there on Sunday mornings, and use the box on the cart to place your signed book cards.  You may also return books to that cart.

Book donations to our church library are accepted at the discretion of the Librarian and the Library committee.
